A hearing aid dryer for rechargeable hearing aids: what to check

Check whether a dryer is compatible with your rechargeable hearing aids. Separate storage, charging, drying and UV functions before choosing a care accessory.

Source-based guidance · Written October 27, 2026 · No hands-on testing claimed

Choose a method the device maker allows

A dryer is not automatically compatible with every rechargeable hearing aid. Ask which product or method is permitted, whether the aid should be switched off and whether the case has separate instructions. Chamber size alone does not establish compatibility.

The FDA warns against heat sources such as a hair dryer, oven or microwave. A household heat source is not a substitute for an approved care method. This article does not provide a temperature or duration for an unidentified device.

Separate charging, storage, drying and UV

Charging
Requires the specified compatible equipment.
Storage
Provides a place to keep the aids; reserve power or drying is not implied.
Drying
Needs an explicitly compatible method and instructions.
UV
A separate advertised feature, not proof of moisture removal or a clinical result.

A case can document several functions, but do not assume that each function applies to the case itself as well as the earpieces.

Get compatibility in writing

  • Is it suitable for the exact model and battery arrangement?
  • Can the case enter it, or only the hearing aids?
  • Which removable parts should be handled separately, if any?
  • Does using this accessory affect the written warranty?

Ask for the relevant instruction page or a manufacturer support response. A third-party list of popular brands is not the same as a device-specific statement.

Build the routine around the real equipment

Nova describes a drying feature; Atom Pro 2 describes a UV cycle. These are different documented functions, not interchangeable care methods. Neither establishes permission to heat another model.

Keep the accessory identifier and support answer with your manual. If the device is already soaked or behaving unusually, contact support using the water-exposure checklist first. Planned maintenance and damage recovery are different decisions; this guide does not rank dryers or claim that one extends device life by a measured amount.

  • iBstone Nova — On-device volume button; 20 hours per charge / 100 hours with case stated.
  • Audien Atom Pro 2 — On-device button; Up to 24 hours.

These examples illustrate the documented task, not a ranking or a compatibility guarantee. The linked model pages retain research dates and unresolved limits.
