Identify which task is failing
An app can change settings without routing calls or music to a hearing aid. Audio can also work while an app function is unavailable. Name the problem first: finding the device, opening the app, changing a setting, hearing media or handling a call.
Keep the aid model, phone model, operating system and app version in your note. A Bluetooth label does not promise every task on every handset.
Use a short, documented check sequence
- Confirm that the exact aid and phone support the failing function.
- Check the power and pairing state using the device instructions.
- Follow the current phone and device guidance for that connection method.
- Test that one task again and record the result.
This is an organization sequence, not permission to factory-reset the device or erase phone settings. Ask support before taking a step that may remove personalized settings.
Do not borrow another model’s capabilities
RIC700 documents iOS-only audio streaming. Its Android app support is a separate question, not proof of Android music support. A TV program name on another model is also not evidence of a wireless television connection.
Apple and Google publish guidance for supported hearing-device connections. Their instructions do not establish that a particular OTC model supports every system feature. Start with the exact device compatibility statement.
Send a useful symptom description
Tell support what worked before, what changed, which task fails and any indicator or message. Do not send passwords or private health records. Ask whether the proposed step affects saved settings and how those would be restored.
Keep the return deadline visible while troubleshooting; a support conversation does not automatically pause it. If there is physical damage or unusual heat, seek service guidance rather than repeatedly pairing the device.
